Campus Minister

RUF is not a typical campus ministry.  We are led by an ordained minister.  Each campus minister is seminary trained and licensed by their denomination.  Kevin, Christie, and Kyra NelsonKevin is an ordained minister with the Presbyterian Church in America.

Rev. Kevin Nelson

Kevin Nelson has served as campus minister at Yale since 2008.  He holds graduate degrees from Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando (M.Div.) and Duke University (Th.M.).  Kevin's academic work was in New Testament studies with a thesis on Pauline Ecclesiology, which has served nicely as a paperweight in the subsequent years.  Aside from meeting with college students, he serves as assistant pastor at Christ Presbyterian Church in New Haven.

He is an avid baseball fan and a classic-movie buff, who could watch TCM all day long.  He is married to Christie and father to Kyra.
